# Lock a Pipeline

If you lock a pipeline it will prevent any modifications on the pipeline from the UI. You can still modify the pipeline using the API. Follow the steps below to lock a pipeline.

* Click **Configure** to modify a pipeline as shown below.

* Click the **Pipeline Actions** from drop-down and select **Lock** as shown below.
